Chapter 9 open ended section 2 question 7
The promblem was that Kareem saw the moon over a tree at 9:00p.m. at position A then an hour later the moon had moved to position B. What caused this apparent change in position? The answer that i had put was that what caused the moon was that the moon was rotating on its axis around the earth. When the moon is rotating on its axis you can look in the sky and look at the moon and it will look like the moon is folowing you were ever you go. To me thats how you can tell when the moon is rotating on its axis thats my opinion. That is what caused the moon to be in a differnt position an hour later than the other hour.

Your theory was good but u should probably look back at your packet. The moon doesn't rotate. The same side of the moon is always facing the Earth.

ReplyDeleteI think you just confused the meaning of rotation on its axis and revolution in its orbit. I think you meant the moon revolves in its orbit around earth.
